Dark Days before Christmas

Many of us are looking forward with trepidation to what is coming with winter and the ever rising cost of living. I am trying to focus on the business side of things to help sustain our little family and keep the art happening. Christmas cards are done and out in the world and almost gone.
I have three pieces in Bishop Auckland Town Hall, only two of them are for sale one is kindly loaned by Peter and Hannah Waveston to show how beautiful a piece of hand painted vintage glass can be. In the hope some one might want to commission something. Because of the economic climate I am trying to sell originals at very reduced prices. What this does is reduce the value of my time, but it frees up money to buy new canvas and paint. I can do very little with the cost of prints as most of the cost of that is in payment to framers for the mounting. The cost of printing has gone up so I cant do a thing about any of that. Customers just have to understand the world is where it is and I am doing my best to be fair to them.
My new studio is up and running, even now on a cold damp day, I am cosy sitting typing this out. In my head I have started the new year already, and have hopes that I am trying to act on now. I will post a New Years message to explain my thinking on where my art is going. bright and early in January 2023, wow where has the time gone? So till then don't be coned that you have to spend a fortune to have a good Christmas, all you really have to do is spend time with the people you love.
Blessings to you for this season.
