First Painting of 2023 Eggleston Abbey rewilded

This is a painting you may never see in original form. It was a commissioned piece, but is now available as limited edition prints. The brief was a meadow of wild flowers, but I could not resist adding a local landmark. and I think the lovely colours of sky and stone add to the overall effect. The painting was commissioned from the Gallery at The Witham last July and has hours of work invested in it. I had a lovely visit with the new owners, who love their new piece of art, and I left feeling very encouraged.

So using this encouragement I have revisited the pricing of prints according to the last costing of prints and mountings. Last July I reduced my prices even though my costs had gone up. Now coming to the end of March this year, I am putting all print prices up to where they should have been last July. The reason for this, is that in the mean time, the cost of living has risen for me as well as everyone else, and I simply can not continue to put my time and money into producing under priced prints.

I want to explain that a Large signed limited edition print of this beautiful image will only cost you £86.00. There will only ever be ten of them produced! I have just sold the penultimate large print of one of my very first prints, 'An interpretation of The Baily'. Anyone buying the next Large print of that image is buying the last one at that size ever!

When considering the rarity of these large limited editions the price I believe seems quite reasonable. Similarly a medium print costs £60.00 and a standard £45 both of which are limited to 25. I am about to investigate the cost of aluminium prints of a selection of my work Eggleston Abbey rewilded will be one of these. There will always be unsigned basic prints, of past work, which will not be on such high quality paper, and may not be of the whole original image, but that seems to be the point to me. If you want something original and unique, there is the actual one and only, oil original that will cost whatever it cost to produce with very little added for artistic creativity, failing that there is a limited edition print, that is a really rare piece on quality paper and mount.
