This was a prophetic painting commissioned as a meditation for prayer. The three spiritual footprints emerged as the painting developed: Holy Island, Durham Cathedral, and the Bishops Castle. The Angel was fundamental from the beginning, but it was only as it was painted did the realisation that she was blessing the land.
